Your Options for Wrinkle-Free Sheets
- Do nothing. Embrace the natural texture and enjoy them as-is.
- Iron them. Labor-intensive, but effective.
- Delegate. Ask a housekeeper, family member, or send them out for laundering (note: not dry cleaning).
Cotton wrinkles most when it’s compressed, tangled, or left to sit. Here’s how to minimize that:
- Wash one set at a time. Overloading the washer leads to balled-up sheets and fiber strain.
- Unfurl before washing. If you’ve rolled them up when stripping the bed, shake them out before placing them in the machine.
- Untangle before drying. Sheets should tumble freely for even drying.
- Remove promptly. Take them out of the dryer while still slightly damp. Either hand-smooth them or place them directly back on the bed.
Step Two: Use Water + Tension to Release Wrinkles
Here’s the insider trick: Water + tension = wrinkle release. No iron required.
What You’ll Need:
• A spray bottle filled with water (fragranced linen water adds a touch of elegance we selll our Linen Spray HERE, but tap water works perfectly).
1. Stretch the fitted sheet snugly over the mattress.
2. Lightly mist the surface with water.
3. The tension from the mattress will naturally pull the wrinkles out.
4. Overspray? No problem it’ll dry quickly.
1. Lay the flat sheet over the bed and tuck it in.
2. Starting at the head of the bed, grab one corner and pull it taut.
3. Mist lightly with water.
4. Repeat on the opposite side.
Pillowcases:
Slide your pillow into the case as usual. Then, holding the cuff or opening with one hand, lightly mist both sides of the fabric with water. Set the spray bottle aside. Now, grasp the pillowcase by the flange with both hands and give it a few firm, vertical shakes. This motion creates just enough tension to smooth out wrinkles, no iron required.

The result? A crisp, inviting finish that looks as good as it feels.
With this method, your bed will look freshly pressed without ever touching an iron. It’s fast, effective, and perfect for anyone who loves the look and feel of a beautifully made bed.
